A local institution – the Darlo 10K run – provided the perfect excuse for a few of us at Mowden to lace up and raise awareness and £445 for an outstanding cause in Zoe’s Place.
Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice is the only UK children’s hospice that specialises in supporting children who have life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses or profound disabilities with a wide range of diagnoses.
It was a great morning on Sunday with goldilocks weather (i.e. just right!) for running – contributing to PB’s for all the Mowden participants! A fantastic atmosphere helped as well as family and friends supporting along the route.
Richard Humble (Centre of main image) achieved a lifetime ambition of getting under 40 mins on his 10th Darlington 10K, clocking an incredible 39.33mins, with Andy Hales (left) coming in under the sub-50mark on 49.43 mins and the ageless Andy Lowther hitting a PB of 54.28.
